Choose from one of the styles below or from our Dressmaking category in your own choice of fabric (see 'Additional Information' for fabric requirements) and master essential dressmaking techniques as well as using one of our Janome overlockers for a professional finish to raw edges.
Capri Pants
Look every inch the cool cat in your own pair of handmade, perfectly fitted capri pants. You’re already no stranger to a sewing machine but by the end of this course you’ll be able to sew waist darts, put in a waist facing, sew in a clever invisible side zip, and conjure a lovely fitted, tapered leg.
Wide Leg Trousers
Sew a pair of comfy wide-leg trousers that skim your figure for a flattering silhouette. With a flat front, high-waisted fit, an elastic in the back and panelled front legs with super practical sneaky hidden pockets incorporated, you will never want to take them off!
Jumpsuit
The perfect project for newbie jumpsuit makers and wearers is made out of a knit/stretch fabric making it comfortable to wear and easy to style for every occasion.
The wrap top is supremely flattering and the wide legs create an elegant silhouette. With optional in-seam pockets and a tie belt, you'll learn lots of garment making skills.
This is a good style to test out your newfound skills if you have attended our Overlocking for Beginners workshop.
A-line or Pencil Skirt
Wardrobe staples have a special place in every girl’s heart, but what about making one for yourself. Make either an A-line or pencil skirt and choose your own length. Sew waist darts, put in a waist facing and insert in a clever invisible side zip then leave with a super stylish end result.
Walk out wearing a garment that's as unique as you are!
As this is not a beginner’s workshop, you must already have some experience on a sewing machine or have attended one of our Beginner sewing workshops.
Based at a Home Studio in Chorlton with a maximum class size of five, if you have any week-day availability to attend please get in touch to arrange a date.

You will need to bring the following to the workshop:
Capri Pants
2m of 150cm wide fabric or 2.3m of 115cm wide fabric, please avoid bulky, stretchy or slippery fabrics; medium weight woven cotton is ideal.
A 23cm (9") concealed/invisible zip (be careful not to pick up a standard zip).
20cm of fusible interfacing.
Matching thread.
Wide Leg Trousers
2.3m of 150cm wide fabric or 3m of 115cm wide fabric. For a more structured shape examples are - denim, cord, twill but nothing too heavy as it creates too much bulk at the back elasticated waist. For a softer silhouette - linen, chambray, poplin. Please avoid bulky, stretchy or slippery fabrics.
1m of 5cm wide elastic.
A 23cm (9") concealed/invisible zip (be careful not to pick up a standard zip). This will only be needed if your waist size is a lot smaller in comparison to your hip size.
20cm of fusible interfacing.
Matching thread.
Jumpsuit
3m of 150cm wide fabric for sizes 4-16 or 4.5m for sizes 18-28. Choose a medium weight knit fabric with a moderate stretch such as cotton jersey, polyester crepe, ponte roma. Avoid anything too light weight or stretchy.

A-line or Pencil Skirt
1.3m of fabric, please avoid bulky, stretchy or slippery fabrics; medium weight woven cotton is ideal.
A 23cm (9") concealed/invisible zip (be careful not to pick up a standard zip).
20cm of fusible interfacing.

Contact us before the course if your hip measurement is larger than 132cm so we can ensure there is a pattern block made in your size and so we can advise how much fabric to bring.
Our sponsors, Janome, supply computerised sewing machines (230DC) and where required overlockers (6234XL). Unfortunately, it is not possible to bring in your own machines.
Tea and coffee will be available at the workshop and there will be a break to eat, so please bring along some lunch or you can pop out to a local deli.
