You can put up wallpaper and paint but can you suss out curtains and blinds? Rather than heading to everyone’s favourite Swedish store, save yourself a fortune and take windows into your own hands and learn the ins and outs of curtain and blind making at Ministry of Craft.

The first part will be all about curtains and we’ll teach you how to sew a lined ‘mini’ curtain, complete with header tape and mitred corners, as well as the theory behind how to use fabrics and trims for different effects and the all-important calculation of fabrics from measurements.

Moving onto blinds, we’ll talk you through the hints and tips you need to make a Roman blind, from measurements to construction. Then put this into practice by making a ‘mini’ lined Roman blind, complete with tape, rods, cord and Velcro attachment making it fully operational.

Armed with a whole host of hints and tips you’ll never need to buy curtains or blinds again.

As this is not a beginner’s workshop, you must already have some experience on a sewing machine or have attended one of our Beginner sewing workshops.

Based at Bamber Sewing Machines, Ministry of Craft customers get 10% discount on the wide range of fabrics, haberdashery and sewing patterns and there are various discounts available on their sewing machines and overlockers.
