Sew a wrap dress that can be paired with wedges or styled for everyday with a classic trainer. Comfortable to wear with batwing sleeves and flattering wrap top. It can be made in various skirt lengths creating both elegant and casual silhouettes.
You'll learn lots of dressmaking skills, sew tucks and pleats and create a waistband with extended belt to finish the dress off with a tie. What’s more you’ll get a truly professional finish while learning to use one of our Janome overlockers.
In your own choice of fabric (see 'Additional Information'), make either a more structured everyday shape with woven poplin, linen or chambray or go for a lighter (and more challenging!) woven cotton voile, lawn or rayon for a more swishy look.
As this is not a beginner’s workshop, you must already have some experience on a sewing machine or have attended one of our Beginner sewing workshops.
Based at a Home Studio in Chorlton with a maximum class size of five, if you have any week-day availability to attend please get in touch to arrange a date (this workshop is also run at Bamber Sewing Machines in Eccles).

For a more structured everyday shape examples are woven poplin, linen or chambray or go for a lighter woven cotton voile, lawn or rayon for a more swishy look (anything too slippy would be more challenging to work with). Nothing stretchy or bulky would be suitable.

88cm - 112cm so we can ensure there is a pattern block made in your size and so we can advise how much fabric to bring.
Our sponsors, Janome, supply computerised sewing machines (230DC) and where required overlockers (6234XL). Unfortunately, it is not possible to bring in your own machines.
Tea and coffee will be available at the workshop and there will be a break to eat, so please bring along some lunch or you can pop out to a local deli.
