Join us in making either an A-line or pencil
skirt in your own choice of fabric (see 'Additional Information') and leave with a super stylish end result.
We’ll show you how to work with pattern blocks, take you step by step through how to insert a concealed zip and help you achieve a professional finish on your skirt using one of our Janome overlockers.
Based at a Home Studio in Chorlton with a maximum class size of five, if you have any week-day availability to attend please get in touch to arrange a date (this workshop is also run at Bamber Sewing Machines in Eccles).
If the above date is not suitable or sold out and there are no alternative dates showing below, contact us with the workshop name, so we can let you know if a place becomes available or when the next date goes on sale.
If you would like to purchase this workshop as a gift, please contact us with the workshop name and date or go to our Gift a Workshop page.
You will need to bring the following to the workshop:
1.3m of fabric, please avoid bulky, stretchy or slippery fabrics; light to medium weight woven cotton is ideal.
A 23cm (9") concealed/invisible zip (be careful not to pick up a standard zip).
20cm of fusible interfacing.
Matching thread.
Contact us before the course if your hip circumference measures outside the range 92cm
- 122cm so we can ensure there is a pattern block made in your size and so we can advise how much fabric to bring.
Our sponsors, Janome, supply computerised sewing machines (230DC) and where required overlockers (6234XL). Unfortunately, it is not possible to bring in your own machines.
Tea and coffee will be available at the workshop and there will be a break to eat, so please bring along some lunch or you can pop out to a local deli.
