Fed up of paying someone else to take up your clothes?
This workshop teaches the invaluable basic alteration techniques to build up the basic skills you need to alter your clothes and revamp your wardrobe.
Learn how to measure, cut and sew with confidence to create different types of hems to shorten or lengthen garments. We will show you how to use the appropriate method for the garment on different types of fabrics and how to get the most out of your sewing machine using specialist feet, needles and stitches to create a blind hem and twin needled hem.
With this under your belt, learn how to mark, unpick and pin alterations into place to take in or let out garments using darts and other clever tricks.
If you have a couple of garments that need altering, bring them along to discuss the best method of alterations.
As this is not a beginner’s workshop, you must have some experience on a sewing machine or have attended one of our Beginner sewing workshops.
