Start by learning the art of threading a sewing machine (no more bobbin confusion!), master essential stitches, discover the secrets of seam guides, flawless curves, perfect pivoting and reversing.
You’ll then use these skills to sew a handy tote bag. We’ll take you through how to sew seams, zig-zag raw edges, create a hem and attach straps
With this under your belt you’ll be ready to take on a zip. The final make of the day will be a lovely lined make-up bag, complete with zip, you can slip it in your tote bag and leave with two gorgeous makes and a new sewing addiction!

This workshop is suitable for complete beginners or for those looking to refresh their skills.
All materials and equipment are supplied for this workshop and are included in the price (fabrics may vary from the ones pictured).
Tea and coffee will be available at the workshop and you are welcome to bring along your own refreshments. There will be a break to eat, so please bring along some lunch or you can pop out to a local shop.
Our sponsors, Janome, supply computerised sewing machines (5060 QDC) and where required overlockers (6234XL). Unfortunately, it is not possible to bring along your own machines. You are, however, welcome to bring your manual, to help you apply the skills you learn to your own machine when you get home.
