MARCHING FORWARD WITH DRESSMAKING

So my last make was the dress that started this whole personal challenge. I managed to do an alright job of this dress and I actually felt confident about wearing it out in public (other garments have made me a bit nervous!)

I found it easier to make it a second time (you can see the first attempt here), which is probably a shining endorsement for taking the time to make a toile. I gave myself a little bit more room around the waist on this version and lengthened the bodice by about 3cm. I think if I was to make this pattern again I'd go the full-bust-adjustment route, I was a bit to nervous to do this without testing it first and time wasn't on my side!

Making it was almost completely straight forward but I had a mental blip when working on the zip and had to pull that out and start again. But that also gave me a chance to fix a bit of the waist gathering that I wasn't happy with. I feel quite proud of where I've got to with this one and it's made me confident enough to try and sew some 'everyday clothes' that I would actually wear more often.

What do you think of the final result?
