MINISTRYMAKES - APRIL 18

What have you all been sewing lately? Here's a little update on my sewing adventures!

I've been dying to try out this Lisette (B6168) pattern from Butterick for a long time. I really liked all the extra detail in the design around the neck, waist and cross over. I was not sure how the gathers over the waistline would look on me so this was a bit of a gamble.

With the arrival of some new fabrics from Dashwood Studios, I was inspired to make it up in time for Christmas using Cotton Meadow in Navy. The fabric was great to sew with and the weight was perfect for the drape and gathers.

The style had capped sleeves which I am never too keen on so I extended the sleeve length and created a tunic length between the full length dress and top. I made a couple of adaptions to the patterns intructions and the order (I am always suprised how they leave the zip insertion to the end - it is mush easier sewing it in on the flat). Except for the small changes I was really pleased with the overall pattern, fit and final look.

We would love to see what you have been sewing, so send us your pictures. We have a six-month subscription to Love Sewing Magazine to giveaway each month and it could be yours!
