Always fancied a go at screen-printing but never knew where to start? Or stuck for a gift idea for the special person in your life? Assisted by print designer Nell Smith, you will design your print, turn it into a stencil and then print your unique design on to fabric.

Based at The Manchester Craft and Design Centre in the heart of the Northern Quarter, you’ll find like-minded classmates; expert tutors and the Oak St. Cafe Bar to grab a cappuccino before your class starts!

Simply bring along a T-shirt, pillowcase or fabric to create a personalised present for a friend, family or yourself.

Using your own design idea or inspiration from a book, magazine or the internet, learn step-by-step the process of combining colours and producing a perfect print.

The possibilities are endless, whether you just want to brighten up clothing or everyday household objects or want to create a design classic!

This workshop is suitable for complete beginners or for those looking to refresh their skills. Some drawing or design skills would be an added bonus, but not essential as Nell will be on hand to assist with design advice and inspiration.

Make a day of it and get a £5 DISCOUNT when you book on both INTRODUCTION TO SCREEN PRINTING and INTRODUCTION TO LINOCUT PRINTING. Enter the discount code PRINTFIVE when going through checkout to redeem the offer.

If the above date is not suitable or sold out, please have a look at our alternative dates or contact us with the course name and we will get in touch if a place becomes available or when the next date goes on sale.

What to bring for Introduction to Screen Printing

Suitable items to bring for screen printing are t-shirts, pillowcases, cushion covers, aprons and tea towels. Unfortunately we cannot print items such as duvet covers due to space restrictions.

If you don't have anything to bring along on the day we have calico bags and linen tea towels you can buy during the workshop for just £2 each.

Please bring along any design ideas you may have. These need to be relatively simple that you will feel confident cutting out with a craft knife. You are welcome to bring more complicated designs but please note these will take longer to cut out reducing your printing time.

All other materials and equipment are supplied for this workshop and are included in the price.

Refreshments can be brought into the workshop, Oak St. Cafe Bar is next to the classroom, tell them you are on a workshop and you will get 10% off food.
