Conquer your night photography demons by exploring the theory and learning the techniques of taking better photographs in darkness.
Develop your ability to combine ambient light and flash, achieve different moods within your photos and use a dark canvas to your advantage. Also pick up some clever lighting tricks that can result in stunning effects and add an extra dimension to your work.

This tutorial combines a short theory session, followed by practical photography in the Northern quarter. Please bring along your camera, a tripod, decent footwear and a raincoat!

Skills at a glance: Understanding the theory behind night photography, taking successful photographs in different light conditions and how to use special lighting effects.
