    Clone a Summer Dress

Inspired by our Clone your Closet (http://www.ministryofcraft.co.uk/workshops/all-courses/c161002-clone-your-closet) workshop and Fabric from our Online Shop (/fabric.html) and desperate to re-create a favourite summer dress (bought from Tesco for £6 in the sale), I drafted a pattern and made my dress. We came across this gorgeous shirt pattern (http://www.backstitch.co.uk/i-am-patterns-hermes-shirt-and-dress-paper-sewing-pattern) when looking for some summer sewing inspiration, we're jealous of everyone off on their holibobs and needed a bit of sewing inspiration to lift our spirits! Her kitsch greeting cards and prints bring cheer and happiness to all who see them. We love the vintage Americana feel to her work and it's also encouraging us to send more snail mail. Wouldn't it b ..

    Fabric Friday!

    Fabric Friday!

We're been rummaging through out favourite virtual haberdasheries to bring you more fabulous fabrics to inspire your makes. This week we've got an orange and teal feel to our picks. First up is this lovely seersucker (http://raystitch.co.uk/products/new-arrivals/japanese-cotton-seersucker-string-of-dots-aqua.html) from Ray Stitch. It's a Japanese cotton so you know it's going to be high quality and the unique weave of seersucker adds a much welcomed texture to your garment. We're thinking lo ..

    #Ministrymakes Winner - June

    #Ministrymakes Winner - June

I think this has got to be the youngest model we have ever had on our #MinistryMakes competition. Were we swayed by the cuteness in awarding mum the winner? hmm..... Well done Jodie, with a new arrival, you have managed to do so much. Not only attending our 4-week evening Introduction to Sewing (http://www.ministryofcraft.co.uk/workshops/chorlton-courses/w160706-step-by-step-introduction-to-sewing) workshop but making one of many matching outfits like this. It is a great project tha ..
