FAQs

When are Ministry of Craft courses?

Ministry of Craft is currently offering courses in the evenings and at the weekends, (see Courses) but hope to expand the course programme soon to include daytime courses as well.

When is the Ministry of Craft open?

We are currently running courses in Central Manchester, at The Friends Meeting House and at Chorlton Library. Our courses run at the times stated on the course description.

You can, of course, pop by a bit earlier if you would like to have a chat with your tutor or have a look through the Ministry of Craft library and there will be time at the end of the session to ask any questions.

For any questions about the courses, booking or anything else for that matter, please contact us and we will be happy to help. Our office hours are:

Monday to Friday: 9.00 – 17.30
Saturday: 10.00  – 16.00

Tel: 07850 894 752

If you have to leave a message, we’ll promise to get back to you on the same day.

What subjects do you offer courses in?

We offer a range of courses which focus on both contemporary and traditional craft skills that allow you to ‘make and take’ a unique handmade design. Go to ‘Courses’ for more information on our current programme.

Our aim is to change the course programme as often as possible to bring you the latest in crafting trends and give you the opportunity to take the next steps in developing your skills.

Do Ministry of Craft offer special parties?

Yes! We would love to help you plan a special occasion, whether it be a birthday, hen party or just a totally different night out with your friends. Contact us with your ideas and we’ll help you ‘tailor’ your event at competitive prices!

What craft materials or supplies do I need to bring with me?

After booking at Ministry of Craft we will email you with what you materials you need to bring to the course. This will vary from course to course and information on what to bring along can be found by clicking on the name of the course on the Course page and looking in the ‘Need to know’ section.

Ministry of Craft is working with local craft and fabric suppliers to give you discount on a range of items that can be used at our courses. Go to Links for more information on our recommended suppliers.

What equipment will I need?

All equipment to achieve your ‘make and take’ item or learn your chosen skills will be provided for you to use during the course.

Our gift vouchers are not yet available, but will be ready for the Autumn / Winter 2009 course programme. If you do want to book a course as a gift, please let us know and we can provide a gift card to represent your gift.

Can I bring a friend or my children along?

Unfortunately we cannot allow any other learners except those booked onto the course.

How many students to a class?

Class numbers vary dependent on the course and the subject, but the average class size will between 8 and 10 learners. This is to ensure that you get one-to-one tutor time and get maximum enjoyment from your time at Ministry of Craft.

Do I need to bring my own sewing machine?

We currently provide sewing machines for all of our learners and plan to run courses, in the future, where you can bring along your own machine.
