If you’re keen to say ‘I made this myself’ rather than head to the high street, come along and learn how to design and create your own pieces of jewellery with designer and maker, Sarah Jay.

After learning the basics of jewellery construction skills and getting to grips with the tools of the trade, you’ll explore colour and layout resulting in the creation of your own stunningly simple necklace, bracelet and or earrings.cj-2

Then develop and design your own accessory, which can include transforming old pieces of jewellery or revamping charity shop finds into unique wearable pieces to add something eye-catching to your jewellery box!

Make and Take: Complete two of the following items: a necklace, a bracelet or a pair of earrings and in addition a creative design jewellerypiece.

Skills at a glance: Basic jewellery construction for necklaces, bracelets and earrings, working with tiger tail wire and understanding creative jewellery design.

Tutor: Sarah Jay

Need to know: All materials and equipment are supplied for the first part of the course. For the creative design you may want tocj2 bring along your own beads, charity shop finds and vintage pieces, to incorporate into your work. There will be a 30 minutes lunch break. Please bring along your own lunch.
