Why not join us to make learning to use a sewing machine as fun as possible, with this sweet and functional make up bag, made from a summer inspired candy striped fabric?

In just one afternoon you’ll how to thread up a machine, wind a bobbin and sew basic stitches, as well as use a simple pattern. Before you know it you’ll be sewing like a pro and mastering the invaluable skills of putting in a zip and a lining.

This mini-project is a perfect way of getting to grips with a sewing machine and by throwing in a touch of creativity, you can add a fabric corsage or button cluster giving the perfect finish to your lovingly handmade creation.

Make and Take: Beginners sewing: Candy striped Make up bag, with ‘wine’ cotton lining, adorned with a corsage or button cluster.

Skills at a glance: Basic sewing machine skills, following a simple pattern, fabric cutting, constructing the make up bag and putting in a zip. Making a corsage or button cluster.

Need to know: All materials are supplied for this course. The make up bag will be made from the fabric, lining and sip as pictured above. The lining is a complimentary ‘wine’cotton. We have a wide range of vintage and contemporary buttons for you to choose from. This sewing machine course is suitable for complete sewing beginners or for those looking to refresh their sewing machine skills.
